The TruMotion Story

Dan Mug Shot in Shop - Dec 31, 2025.PNG

From the time he was a little boy, Daniel always had wrenches and tools in his hands. He recalls his first mechanics project: taking apart his bike and reassembling it. As he grew older, he and his dad and brothers worked on repairing and servicing every vehicle his family owned. In high school Daniel got interested in all forms of mechanics and woodworking and other creative ventures.

Eventually, Daniel went full-time into automotive mechanics in the mid-2000s, but realized it was much more of a hobby than a job. In 2010 he was hired to work for the motor repairs department of Tedco with hands-on training from the Gibbs’ Brothers.

Rick Gibbs was the original employee of Tedco back in 1983, and later became the shop’s owner. Rick was an out-of-the box thinker, and prioritized quality, efficiency and motor longevity. He trained Daniel and his other employees to adopt these same legendary repair standards. Daniel eventually was promoted to shop manager and in 2014, Daniel bought the motor repairs department from the Gibbs’ brothers.

Daniel’s training as an automotive mechanic and also as an electric motor technician means that his mindset of “anything can be fixed” is how he approaches every job. In a throw-away culture, it is refreshing to the customer to discover that Daniel has the mindset to repair motors whenever possible. He always endeavours to find the best solution to help the customer resolve issues or problems with their motors and electrical systems. Daniel is known for giving his customers an honest appraisal of their motors.

Daniel has developed many relationships with machinists, mechanical and electrical engineers, and electricians from small companies to multimillion dollar corporations and is continually developing his own unique techniques for producing the best quality of service. With record growth in 2025, Daniel has now launched a new larger facility - TruMotion Electric.
